Richard E. Faw

Educated in chemical engineering, Faw began his career at Kansas State University in 1962.  His teaching and research interests focused on radiation shielding and the effects of radiation on materials.  "Students and teachers work and learn together," explained Faw, "An honor to any one is an honor to all."

Faw's citation acknowledges his "influence on the nuclear engineering profession through his textbooks and research publications.  He inspired the careers of graduates by his example in the classroom and laboratory."
